MOJO #298

Hi All,

I love the citrusy colours of this card I just made this afternoon for the MOJO Monday Challenge #298!
The sentiment is from one of my Just Rite sets while all the other paper colours and ribbon are from Stamping UP! The blossom images are from the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set and are stamped in So Saffron and More Mustard. The vertical paper strips are from the retired Everday Enchantment DSP. The little flags  on the end are hand cut as I have misplaced my Bitty Banners framelits somewhere in my stamping studio! Yikes! The little rhinestone buckle on the SU pear pizzaz ribbon is from a local craft store and I think it is so cute! I cut the star our with my Star #2 Sizzix die on everyday enchantment paper with a rhinestone from SU in the middle of the star! This card is so fun and fresh! I hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it!

SR #181

Hi All,

Here is my entry for Stamping Royalty this week! It has been such a busy week with that I didn't even check my favourite card challenge websites! I did have a couple of my friends over to make paper tea cups on thursday so that was fun! On monday after work I let loose with stamping some images from my Betsy's Blossoms stamp set and my two favourite colours Rose Red and Pear Pizzaz! Woke up this morning, made pancakes for my hubby & I and then started vacuuming, but when I went to vacuum my stamping studio I just turned the vacuum off and started making a card! Needless to say, the floor of my studio is still littered with small bits of paper, the peel off backs of dimensionals etc.... Just tickled that I made this masculine thank you card and also so pleased that it captures the feel of the Stamping Royalty picture! Here is the card recipe:

Paper: White cardstock torn with my SU tearing edge ruler & inked in SU Midnight Muse ink
White cardstock stamped in Midnight Muse ink with my old SU solid stripes wood mount stamp
White cardstock stamped in Choc Chip with my Pretty Petites stamp set and cut out with
           co-ordinating punch.

Stamp Sets: By the Tide (SU) : Lobster  (midnight muse)/Coral (Marina Mist/Sea horses (Classic Black)
Pretty Petites (SU) Sentiment in Chocolate Chip
Solid Stripes (SU) Stripes in midnight must to make banner cut out by me and popped up.

Tools:          Dimensionals to pop up banner and sentiment, tearing edge ruler, and dazzling details on lobster.

Hope you enjoy this masculine thank you card! ~Happy Stampin'~ Jenny G

SUO #69 Anything Sizzix!

Hi All,

Here is my entry for SUO #69 and yes I did use a wonderful SU Sizzix Die called the Fancy Favour bag!

I used some old Spice Cake DSP for the bag and cut out a cute handle using my Modern Label Punch. At the top closing the bag is one of those cute SU library clips! I stuffed the bag with some crinkled paper I had laying around. I put a wonderful little fabric flower cut out from the 5/8 SU flower trim. My most favourite part of this project was to create the dazzling background for the "Thank You" sentiment. I cut out a wonderful shape on SU whisper white cardstock. The framelit was from the Apothecary Accents set. I then put double sided tape over top the shape and trimmed the tape with my SU paper snips and then sprinkled some SU Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder. I shook it off in my old powder pal and was so AMAZED to see it sparkle so beautifully! SO awesome! I then stamped out Thank You from my old SU Fresh Cuts set and cut it out with my Modern Label Punch. I accented the sentiment with a couple of adorable little SU Rhinestones! I love this little bag. It is so elegant and lovely! Hope you like my Sizzix project as much as I do!

SUOC #67 Spring is in the Air!

Hi All,

It is Good Friday and we have just come back from our church service and then we are out again to celebrate Easter Dinner with my brother.  There are 3 birthdays this weekend and then my sister-in-law & I will be catching up later at our dinner & exchanging our belated birthday gifts. So I have been making birthday cards all week after supper. This is the card I made just now after church. The SU Nature Walk set reminds me of spring so much  so I thought I would enter this card into the SUOC #67 challenge. I decided to use a de-saturated colour palate on this card. This palette reminds me of the beginning of spring and how we move from grey cold days to the warm rays of spring sunlight. I stamped the bird in a Grey SU ink spot and then touched the belly and feet with a Cherry Cobble ink spot. The sentiment from the "It's your Day" set is also lightly stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used uneven pressure so it would look a little distressed much like the start of spring. I used the Windows Framelits to punch out the panels and edged the inner panel with a soft suede and grey ink spot. The larger window is edged in Perfect Plum. The flowers are from the SU Flower Trim ribbon which I coloured with a Perfect Plum ink pad and with a Pink Pirouette ink pad and placed and SU pearl in the middle of each flower. The butterflies were stamped with Perfect Plum on SU Whisper White paper. Everything used was from Stamping Up. The first picture is of the card itself. The middle picture above is of the matching gift tag. The third picture is of my crafting area which overlooks the family room. It is a panorama picture showing the card, gift tag, and my crafting area. And now that I notice it, I think my MRS. coffee cup is there! How cute is that!! Anyways,  this card is wonderful and it reminds me of the early days of spring where birds start to sing in the early morning!  Hope you enjoy this card.  Must go & prepare for my mother-in-law's birthday & my friend Jean's birthday....So glad I sent the card and gift to my sister earlier this week. See the previous challenge to view the card I made and sent to my sister.

MOJO286 Circle or Square Cards Entry #2

Hi All!

Here is my 2nd entry for MOJO #286 and it is a 4x4 square card. I made it for a friend of mine who recently lost her husband and then went out of town to stay with family until after Easter. A bunch of us from the previous women's committee at church are planning on getting together with her when she gets back.Instead of a banner like on the sample card I have placed a dainty string of pearls. Instead of a star, I have made a large scallop circle with the sentiment. Hope you all enjoy this card.  I think it is very beautiful. The card recipe is down below.

Ink: Black staz-on. Stamped the sentiment from one of my Just Rite sets onto SU (Stampin' Up) Whisper White cardstock. The flower at the bottom is another image from that Just Rite set which I coloured in with some old pencil crayons that my little niece left behind at my place a few years ago. The pearl in the middle is a liquid pearl from a Viva Salmon coloured Pearl Pen. I put the liquid pearl on after I added shimmer/glitter to the sentiment.

Glitter: On the sentiment circle piece you will see some shimmering glitter if you look close. I used a sheet of Sookwang two way tape in an 8x11 sheet and cut a 2inch circle with my SU circle punch and gently laid it over top the stamped and coloured sentiment then put some ultra fine clear glitter on it and gently tapped the excess off into my SU Powder Pal. Then I added the salmon coloured liquid pearl. I love the delicate shimmer!

Paper: SU DSP, SU black cardstock and brown glitter paper given to me from a friend. I scalloped the edges using one of my SU framelits and then accented the image with and SU scallop embossing folder. Used the large SU scallop Square SU die to cut out the main backing of the card on white cardstock. The pearls and ribbon were from SU.

Hope you enjoy! ~Happy Stampin'~ Jenny G

MOJO286 Circle or Square Cards

Hi All,

I made two entries for this challenge: one was a circle card and the second a square card but couldn't seem to enter both so I added the pic of my second entry here so people can at least see it. For the card recipe see the post above this one for the details!  If I have to choose between then then I would want my second card, the square one as my official entry this time around. My first time linking to a Mojo Monday Challenge so I think I have learned a few things!

Here are the details for my circle card entry for the MOJO 286 challenge! My sister's birthday is next week so I made a super cute card for her. Since her favourite colour is blue I decided to use the blue patterned paper from the SU Spice Cake Designer paper from last fall. Most of the products were from SU, however the big scallop circle is from a nestabilties set I have. The stars are from some silver glitter paper and some light blue paper given to me by a friend and cut out with a Sizzix die. I love the little edges on the panel with Sister stamped on it. Used my framelits from the Finishing Touches set....so cute! The sentiment is from the Amazing Family SU stamp set and it is stamped in midnight muse ink! Enjoy!

SR #168 Picture inspiration

Hi All,

Just received my parcel from my second sale-a-bration order and just had to make this cute card for the Stampin' Royalty Inspiration Challenge! I am just LOVING my new bitty butterfly punch & my new window frames framelits. Still loving that SU 5/8 flower trim. The pattern on the butterflies is awesome! To get that delicate pattern on the butterflies, I stamped out some butterflies in Regal Rose with the SU "Strength & Hope" stampset from a couple of summers ago and then punched out the little butterflies from the pretty stamped pattern of the big butterfly from that set. The "Thank You" is from my new  "Pretty Petites" sale-a-bration set. I popped them up on the white window panes with dimensionals. The little white windows were cut out with the littlest framelit from the Windows Collection. The pearls on the butterflies are from SU & were the last detail I added to the card. The paper in the middle under the butterflies and sentiments was from my new Print Poetry paper pad. I used some cute edgelits from my "Finishing Touches" set and cut out some adorable borders from some old SU paper from the other year...perhaps blushing bride or regal rose. After the centre panel was put together, I took some Su Whisper White cardstock and used one of the folders from my "Delicate Designs" textured impressions folder. I spaced them far enough apart so that my centre panel would fit in nicely.  I then cut the right edge with the "Large Scallop" framelit and then glued on the centre piece & added the pearls onto the butterflies. On the other side of the card, I first put some old SU pink seam ribbon down with sticky strip and then took some SU 5/8 flower trim and rubbed it on a "Pretty in Pink" ink pad. I stuck it down with sticky strip on top of the seam ribbon. Voila, here is my latest entry to Stampin' Royalty! Hope you enjoy it!

SUO #65 2nd Entry Going Green

Hi All,

Here is my 2nd entry for SUO #65! I was trying to add it to the challenge but the link kept saying it couldn't as the link was already found in the collection. Hope I can try to add it before the deadline. Will keep trying!!

Ink:

Wild Wasabi & Dazzling Details on the "ears to you" stampset.
Always Artichoke, Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip and Soft Suede are edged in on the outside of the SU  Oval Die, and the piece cut out with one of the Apothecary Accent framelits.
Rose Red daubed with a sponge dauber on the 5/8 flower trim with SU Pearls glued on with SU glue dots in the middle.

Paper:

SU DSP from a set which I forgot the name of. Cut two pieces of the paper with the Apothecary Accents set and then set them under the watercolour paper stamped with the "ears to you" set. I set it with tombow glue so that the paper is peeking out under the center piece with the sentiment. Hid the parts on the side with the flowers as the sides were overlapping and not attractive as you could see the two pieces of paper. Cut the bottom edge of the Big Oval Die so it would stand better.

Pear Pizzazz paper left over from the other year which I ran through my SU Big Shot with my Finishing Touches edgelit. I am so in love with this dainty border!

Tools:
Big Z Clear Oval Accent Die
Apothecary Accent Framelit
Finishing Touches Framelit
Ears to You clearmount stamp set
Two flowers from 5/8 flower trim and two SU pearls
SU Dazzling Details is on the rabbits on the stamped image to make them more shiny!

Enjoy! ~Happy Stampin'~  Jenny G

SUO #64 Sale-a-Bration Time

Hi All,

I had a wonderful time with my friends Heather and Sherry yesterday creating cards and it got my creativity flowing! When I got home I started a new card: the card you see today on my blog. I took some SU whisper white paper and ran it through the Big Shot with that wonderful edgelit from my "Finishing Touches" set and then I ran it through again with the lacy brocade folder. I thought I saw the lacy brocade folder used in the sale-a-bration catty so thus my entry fits the competition. If not, and it is disqualified then that's ok as I think it is a STUNNING card which I wanted to share with you all anyway! If any of you want to case it just reference me as the creator or direct people to my blog. After I embossed the lacy brocade image I used a product that Stampin' Up doesn't carry: INKA GOLD ink...it is much like a cream eye shadow and can be applied with one's own finger tips and it is such FUN stuff. I applied just a bit over all the surface of the card to get this wonderful shimmery silvery glow as I used the silver cream not the the gold cream. I then edged the edges with a fabulous SU soft suede ink spot to get a very vintage and distressed look! I was SO excited about the card backing and then I turned my thoughts to the sentiment. My Sale-a-Bration order is on it's way as we speak and in it I got for FREE the Sentiments stamp set with that fabulous sentiment " Celebrate". I looked through my massive collection of SU stamps and found the stamp I had that best captured the feel of the sentiment set! I decided to use the Thank You stamp from my wood mount "Fresh Cuts" which is an SU set from a few years back when wood mount was still a popular choice. I put aside for later and went to create my embellished sentiment piece.

I took my espressso SU marker and outlined the label image from the Layered Labels set 2/2. I left the  Congrats sentiment uncoloured as I wanted to stamp Thank You from fresh cuts in rose red from the subtles collection. After stamping the espresso frame, I cut it out using the framelit from Apothecary Accents. I then stamped the Thank You in rose red and a little off centre as true vintage things are never ever perfect. I used my soft suede ink spot to distress the edges of the label and then put two SU rinestones in the middle of the flourishes on the sides! I popped on this little piece with dimensionals! And Voila: a lovely card that captures the sale-a-bration stamp set, highlights the lacy brocade folder and uses one of the great framelits and one of the great edgelits that SU has for sale! I hope you love this card as much as I do and enjoyed learning how to make it!

SR #157 Not Quite Navy/Crumb Cake/Soft Suede/Very Vanilla

Hi All,

Here is my card for the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #157!

I used Not Quite Navy ink on the Eiffel Tower image from the SU stamp set Artistic Ethchings, and then blinged it up with some SU dazzling details. Using my retired SU tearing edge I made a fabulous edge and then smudged all the edges with Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake. The paper underneath is leftover from the Beau Chateau designer paper series which also has the browns of soft suede and crumb cake in it as well as a lighter shade of blue that I thought complimentary. I also edged the DSP with all the inks. The base layer is SU Whisper White paper that I ran through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice impressions folder. In th right corner, I have used an antique brad and in the lower left corner I used two SU rhinestones to accent the piece holding the sentiment. For that piece, I used the smallest of the label framelits and then stamped AMOUR in SU white craft ink. I then put on clear powder and set it with my heating tool. When done I took my Not quite Navy inkpad and smudged from the centre out to create that dynamic streaking that you can see if you look closely. The ink just rolled off the sentiment which shows up nicely against the streaky background. I used 5/8 whisper white organza ribbon to add an extra touch. Hope you like my latest creation. Happy Stampin'!

Valentine's Day & Birthday Cards & Recent News!

Hi All,

It's been a while since I blogged last but I am back again. The past year was difficult with my dad passing and our neighbour flooding our place but I am so glad that the house is repaired and things are getting back to usual. Missed my dad so much over Christmas but I guess that that is pretty typical for most people. Anyways I have a few cute cards/projects to show you all and they are relating to one of my favourite days of the year: Valentine's Day! I have not submitted them to any challenges. The first card is for my hubby and I made it earlier in the year.

The second card is based on a card at a make and take at the Making Memories Scrapbooking Shop. I totally blinged it  out with rhinestones, glitter glue and a fab stamp from Stampin Up's Stamp Set Affection Collection. I stamped the word LOVE and highlighted it with SU dazzling details! I also used the Cupid from SU's Valentine's set ps. I Love You.

The last card is a gorgeous card I just made for an upcoming birthday!

By the way, I said I would put a shout out to my card making friend Sherry! She has started a card shop on facebook so if you want to check out her designs feel free to check her out at  www.facebook.com/shersshoppe

Hope you enjoy! I will be entering more challenges soon! Happy Stampin'
